Growling lemurs

My noise sounds like growling. Am I a doggie or bear? Well actually neither, because like ring-tailed lemurs, I am a lemur. We are, so to speak, cousins of the monkeys.

Handy teeth

I am the largest of all the lemur species and have a long, woolly coat. I need to take good care of my fur and for that I do something special. I use my 6 lower teeth as a comb! Peeling fruit is also handy with these little teeth.

Pollinating flowers

In addition, I eat nectar and pollen. With these, I help pollinate flowers of certain hardwood trees. You know, just like bees. These trees can't do without me! And I can't do without trees. Because we are being cut down and hunted, we have a hard time. But fortunately this is already banned in parts of Madagascar.
