Through Stichting Wildlife, Eindhoven Zoo is committed to the protection of nature. We support as many as 30 projects all over the world, from North Brabant to South America. In this way we help many animals, from the black bee to the Greater one horned rhino.

The goal of Stichting Wildlife
The goal of the Stichting Wildlife is to protect endangered species. The foundation supports as many as 30 projects both at home and abroad. This is how we are committed to protecting animals and their habitats in the wild. By 2024, we will have helped protect 39 endangered and vulnerable species!
Eindhoven Zoo's enthusiastic volunteers are happy to tell you all about the threats and opportunities of certain animal species, the projects we use to protect these species and give you tips on how you too can help protect these animals.

Volunteers in Eindhoven Zoo tell you all about the animals and conservation projects. They also organize various activities. In this way they contribute to the protection of many (endangered) animal species.

Polar Bears International
The mission of this foundation is to protect polar bears and the ice they depend on. Through education, research and political engagement, the foundation seeks to inspire wonder about the polar circle. It also inspires with actions such as the Power Down Challenge and provide tips for a more sustainable life.

International Rhino Foundation
The IRF is working in India to combat poaching and increase the number of Greater one horned rhinos. They increase distribution by moving animals to new habitats, increasing safety in wildlife areas, promoting conservation among local communities, and improving legislation and enforcement.

Association Anoulak
This French organization focuses on wildlife protection in Laos. They conduct biodiversity research, anti-poaching patrols, education and support for local people. In doing so, they are committed to several plant and animal species in the area, including the White-cheeked gibbon.

Milvus Group
Approximately 60% of all brown bears in Europe live in Romania. Therefore, it is important to protect this species there in particular. The biggest threats to brown bears are habitat loss and many human-animal conflicts. In recent years, Milvus Group has already ensured that almost 105,000 hectares of additional nature reserve have been cleared, which also benefits many other plant and animal species!

How did Stichting Wildlife come into being?
Stichting Vrienden Safaripark Beekse Bergen was founded in 1985 to prevent the imminent closure of Safaripark Beekse Bergen. Fortunately, Beekse Bergen was soon taken over by Libéma. The foundation then decided to continue and work for education and nature conservation. In 2004 Libéma opened Dierenrijk (now Eindhoven Zoo) and in 2015 Aquazoo Leeuwarden and ZooParc Overloon were added. Because the foundation is active in all these parks, the name has been changed to Stichting Wildlife.
