Polar Bear Day at Eindhoven Zoo

On Saturday, February 28th a visit to the park is extra special. Together with Stichting Wildlife, Eindhoven Zoo dedicates this day to the polar bear. Discover special activities and learn everything about this impressive species.

What is there to do?

Games and challenges

Can you achieve the fastest time in 'Unplug the plug'? Help us save energy, unplug all plugs from the socket as quickly as possible, and protect the earth from melting ice sheets. You also play a fun game of memory together and discover everything about the polar bear, Stichting Wildlife, and Polar Bears International.

Feeding Presentations

During Polar Bear Day, there are two educational feeding presentations at the polar bears. At 11:00 AM, the polar bears are fed and at 2:00 PM, they are treated to an ice cake filled with fish, fruit, and vegetables. The zookeeper tells you everything you want to know about these special animals.

Exclusive tours

A caretaker will give two short tours at the polar bears this day. You will discover everything about the care, behavior, and body of this magnificent species. The caretaker will also gladly answer all your questions. The tours take place at 11.30 am and 2.30 pm and cost 4,- for adults and 2,- for children.

Stichting Wildlife booth

At the Stichting Wildlife booth, you will find our volunteers. They are happy to show you how the polar bear is doing and how the foundation contributes to the protection of this species in collaboration with Polar Bears International. They will even show you real body parts of the polar bear, such as a paw and a skull.

Ask all your questions

The enthusiastic volunteers of Stichting Wildlife are happy to tell you about the threats and opportunities for the polar bear, the ways we protect this species, and give you tips on how you can help too. So don't be shy and fire all your questions at them! They are ready for you and are happy to provide more explanation.

Support the polar bear

At the stand of Stichting Wildlife, you will find various fun products of which the entire proceeds go to Polar Bears International. For example, special bracelets have been designed. You will also find here nice keychains and plush toys of a polar bear. A nice souvenir of this day and a fun way to support the good cause.

Polar Bears International

Polar bears need ice. From the ice, they hunt ringed seals, the main food for polar bears. Due to climate change, there is less and less ice, and the period during which the water is frozen is much shorter. As a result, polar bears can eat less and build up fat reserves. Polar Bears International is committed to protecting the polar bear.
