Together we take care of nature
In Eindhoven Zoo you can see how beautiful nature is. You stand eye to eye with fantastic animals, who are ambassadors for their fellow nature lovers. Many of the species you see in the park are threatened with extinction and are struggling in their original habitats. By working together, we can help them. Not only with big steps, but also with small ones! On this page you can read how our park contributes to conservation and discover different ways you can help.

Working together for species conservation
Many species have IUCN status as "endangered. European parks work together to conserve these species. Almost all the animals you see in the park were born here or moved to Eindhoven Zoo from another zoo. Did you know that some animals are even released back into the wild?

Nature conservation
Eindhoven Zoo is committed to protecting nature through Stichting Wildlife. They support projects all over the world, from North Brabant to South Africa. This is how they help a lot of animals, from the black bee to the Indian rhinoceros.

Conduct research
Research is very important for protecting endangered species and their habitats. By conducting research, we learn a lot about different animal species and how we can help them in nature. That's why we conduct our own research and contribute to others' projects.

Native nature
In Eindhoven Zoo you can also see animal and plant species that do not belong to the collection. This is native nature: species native to the Netherlands and adapted to our climate. Many native species also have the IUCN status of 'endangered'.

Education
In Eindhoven Zoo you will discover your own view of the animal kingdom. A main task of our park is to offer good education. Here you will learn all about the animals and be inspired in the field of nature protection and conservation.

Nature Conservation in Madagascar
We are working on a major nature restoration project in Madagascar. We are doing this together with twelve other zoos, all members of the NVD (Dutch Association of Zoos). In this way, we are helping not only the animals at Eindhoven Zoo, but also their counterparts in Madagascar.

Adopt an animal
All animals you see in our park can be adopted. The contribution is donated to Stichting Wildlife. This way, wild animals are also helped. Will you give an adoption as a gift or choose your favorite species?

Become a volunteer
Do you know how to share your love of nature and inspire others to contribute to nature conservation? As a volunteer you tell visitors all about the animals in Eindhoven Zoo and projects of Stichting Wildlife.

Donate your phone
In the African rainforests, gorillas are losing their habitat. By recycling the coltan from your cell phone, no new mines need to be built. You also support Stichting Wildlife with the proceeds.

Donate deposit
Did you get something to drink that was in a plastic bottle or can? It is very nice if you donate this packaging and thus the deposit via the collection bins in the park to Stichting Wildlife.

Donation of choice
You can donate an amount of your choice to Stichting Wildlife at the donation pole in Eindhoven Zoo. Thanks to your donation we support 30 conservation projects around the world.
