Wanted: Kids with best penguin run for opening new enclosure!

Eindhoven Zoo challenges children to show off their best penguin moves. The class, association or BSO that comes up with the most original way to do a penguin walk will be allowed to help with the official opening of the new penguin enclosure.

This month Eindhoven Zoo welcomes Humboldt penguins. After a short settling-in period in the indoor enclosure, the group will go outside for the first time the second weekend of February. The winning class gets to go onfriday, february 7 come to inspect and decorate the outdoor enclosure. They also get to be the first visitors to greet the park's newest residents.

Festive opening

"We are very much looking forward to the arrival of these penguins," says Eindhoven Zoo general manager Chantal Ermers. "They are fantastically fun animals to watch, but also with an enormously loyal nature. There are very few animals that stay together their entire lives. So we don't want to let this opening pass by lightly and would love to celebrate with children."

What to do.

All school classes, BSOs and clubs that want to be the first to welcome the Humboldt Penguins may do a penguin walk. Film your best penguin walk and upload the video no later thanJan. 31 on theFacebook page or mail it toinfo@dierenrijk.nl. The winner will be invited to celebrate the start of the opening weekend on Feb. 7!
