Lynx gevonden bij Eindhoven Zoo
The escaped lynx has returned to Eindhoven Zoo. On Tuesday, May 6, the lynx escaped from Eindhoven Zoo. The animal was found a week after it went missing in a forest 800 meters from the park.
The young animal of less than a year old had been seen at this spot before. Therefore, a wildlife camera had been hung up. When images showed that he returned regularly, permission was requested to place a catch cage here. He was found in it Monday night, just before midnight.
The male will soon be examined by a veterinarian. He will remain behind the scenes for the next while to recover.
Lynx are small predators, just slightly larger than a hefty male cat, with black floss on top of their ears. They are very shy and harmless to humans. They are found in Europe and have been spotted regularly near the Dutch border in Germany and Belgium.
Eindhoven Zoo was helped in the search by the police and local residents and thanks everyone for their help.
