No movement

Newborn chital can walk and stand almost immediately. But they hardly move during the first few weeks of their lives. The mother hides them in a safe spot, where they lie completely still until the mother returns. Every now and then the mother takes them to a new hiding place. This way the young chital stay safe against predators.
