About the Eurasian spoonbill

The Eurasian spoonbill lives in Europe, Asia and Africa. These birds fly to Africa in winter because there is plenty of food to be found there. They find their food in shallow water. They like to eat insects, worms, frogs and small fish. Sometimes they also eat plant matter, such as algae or aquatic plants. They therefore live mainly in wetlands. There is plenty of food to be found here. Spoonbills communicate with each other by making sounds or by clacking their beaks. Their greatest natural enemy is the fox.
