Movement

Nature is always in motion, and so are animals. Discover how animals run, fly, climb, or crawl. Movement can help them survive. By moving, they can escape predators, find food, or find a mate. But sometimes, not moving is actually the best choice. How do you move, anyway? Can you run faster than a cheetah? Can you stay underwater as long as a small-clawed otter? Or would you rather sit in the sun like a ring-tailed lemur?

Educational Elephant Presentation - 2:00 p.m.

The elephants show just how impressive and strong they are as they move through their enclosure. Our elephants are trained so we can closely monitor their health. Did you know that their nails are also filed regularly? Our animal care staff will be happy to explain how that works. Feel free to ask any questions and learn more about these extraordinary animals.

Lemur Walk-Through Enclosure - 11:00 a.m.

Every day at 11:00 a.m., you’re welcome to visit the ring-tailed lemurs. Walk along the path and watch how the lemurs get around in their own unique ways: jumping, climbing, and scrambling. Embark on an adventure together, each in their own way.

Coffee Truck

At the Coffee Truck, you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, a refreshing drink, or a tasty treat. Take a seat on the cozy terrace overlooking the elephants while the kids have a blast in the playground.

Playgrounds

After watching the animals, it’s time to get moving yourself. From climbing to jumping and from scrambling to sliding: in our playgrounds, children choose their own path.

Did you know...?

An Asian elephant’s trunk has no bones, but it does have more than 15,000 muscles. That’s why it can pick up both large and tiny objects with it!

A white-cheeked gibbon swings effortlessly to a branch as far as 10 meters away. Long arms and flexible shoulders help it move through the trees at lightning speed!

A cheetah can run so fast thanks to its large heart, large lungs, and extra-large nostrils. This ensures it gets enough oxygen to sprint at lightning speed!

Lemur Rescue Center

The Lemur Rescue Center primarily cares for ring-tailed lemurs that have been rescued from the bushmeat and pet trades. The goal is to release these lemurs back into the wild.
