When you enter Eindhoven Zoo, you step into a World of Difference. Here, you’ll discover just how extraordinary nature is. Scientists estimate that there are more than 8 million animal and plant species on Earth. All these species are unique, but they also work together to keep nature healthy. The number of different species in an area is called “biodiversity.” The greater the diversity, the better an area can cope with change. In many places around the world, biodiversity is not doing so well. Discover why that is and what we can do to change it. If you look closely and listen to nature, you’ll discover that you, too, can make a positive difference.

Experience endless fun

At Wereld van Verschil, you’ll find a large outdoor playground for the whole family. Little adventurers can climb on the wooden animals or swing on their own on the family swing. Older children can let off steam on the air trampoline, together or alone. For parents, there’s time for a snack and a drink on the terrace—plenty of choices, because tastes vary.

Start or end your day at Smulrijk

Start your day at Smulrijk restaurant. Here you can choose from hot and cold drinks, pastries, hot rolls, grilled sandwiches, poffertjes, fries and snacks, ice cream, and soft-serve. Take a seat inside the restaurant or enjoy the sunshine on the terrace.

Discover the adventurous indoor playground

Can you climb as well as the chimpanzees? At the front of the park, you’ll find a large indoor playground: Indoor Apenkooien. From here, you’ll come face to face with the West African chimpanzees. Climb, swing, and scramble around just like they do. The indoor playground is a great place to take a break, check out the chimpanzees, and have some fun.

Did you know...?

🍎 Blue-and-yellow macaws eat lots of fruit, seeds, and nuts. They swallow some seeds whole. They later poop those seeds out. A new tree can then grow in that spot. So macaws are important to the rainforest where they live.

🕷️ More than 90% of meerkats’ diet consists of insects, spiders, and centipedes. Meerkats live in groups of up to fifty animals, and they eat a lot of insects every day. This way, they provide effective natural pest control.

🍂 By eating dead leaves and rotting fruit, large agate snails help nature. They slow the spread of fungi and diseases. They also add new nutrients to the soil through their eating and excretion.
